CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 84-319 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RETAINING STOP SIGNS AT MUIRWOOD DRIVE <br />AND WEST LAS POSITAS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is the present plan that once the West Las Positas <br />overcrossing and the Foothill Road/West Las Positas <br />traffic signal is completed that the stop signs stopping <br />traffic on West Las Positas Boulevard at Muirwood Drive <br />will be removed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of June 26, 1984, concern was raised by <br />a citizen who felt the stop signs should remain to <br />protect children going to Lydiksen School; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The previous direction for automatic removal of the <br /> West Las Positas stop signs is hereby modified to retain <br /> those at Muirwood Drive and staff is instructed to <br /> monitor the traffic situation after school has begun <br /> and return with a recommendation concerning appropriate <br /> traffic control at the West Las Positas/Muirwood Drive <br /> intersection, including retention or removal of the <br /> stop signs, need for crossing guards, etc.. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JUNE 26, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood and <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> 't · <br /> <br />Br W. i y Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
