2009. At the local level, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are working to draft ideas to develop an
implementation process, synchronization of models and the method for approving
strategies. It is expected that the ABAG Executive Board and the MTC will consider
these strategies in the March/April 2009 timeframe.
Staff will become familiar with ARB's scoping plan and the RTAC's recommendations
and work with the Committee on Energy and the Environment to incorporate the
elements into the strategies developed for Pleasanton.
CONCLUSION
Since 2005, the City of Pleasanton has implemented programs and efficiencies to
reduce energy and fuel consumption. Because 2005 is the baseline year, the facilities
and efficiencies implemented after 2005 are unaccounted for in the analysis and will be
accounted for in the future when the City conducts a reinventory as noted in ICLEI's
Climate Protection Milestones. Additional milestones will be achieved through the work
completed by the Committee on Energy and the Environment.
Submitted by:

!(~~ ~z ~i n (~ CL( ~-
Maria Lara
Assistant to the City Manager
Approved
Ne son Fialho
City Manager
Attachment 1:
City of Pleasanton -Greenhouse Gas Emissions Analysis
Page 5 of 5
