THE CITY OF 1 <br />PL£~S~4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />March 3, 2009 <br />Community Development <br />Engineering Division <br />TITLE: ADOPT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION <br />FOR FEDERAL AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF <br />2009 (ARRA) FUNDING FOR THE PLEASANTON 2009 ARRA STREETS <br />AND ROADS RESURFACING PROJECT (CIP NO. 095014) AND STATING <br />THE ASSURANCE TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT <br />SUMMARY <br />The City of Pleasanton is eligible to receive approximately $1,588,105 in funding from <br />the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for transportation <br />projects through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). A resolution <br />authorizing the filing of an application for the ARRA funding and stating the assurance <br />to complete the project is required. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City Engineer to execute and file an <br />application with MTC for ARRA funding for the Pleasanton 2009 ARRA Streets and <br />Roads Resurfacing Project. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is approximately $1,588,105 from federal grants available to be added to the <br />City's street resurfacing program. The total estimated cost for this project is $1,930,000. <br />Therefore, approximately $341,895 from local funds will be necessary to complete the <br />project. These local funds will be provided by funding set aside for the City's Annual <br />Streets Resurfacing Project, CIP No. 095003. <br />
