I am confident that if this were to happen, it will only be a matter of time
after which Pleasanton city officials will be scrambling to fix the mess that will ensue as a result of that. we all
know how crowded eastbound 1 -580 is between 3pm and 7pm every single weekday east of Santa Rita. Until
that problem is permanently fixed, Pleasanton will pay a very heavy price if they created a cut - through
alternative for commuters. And please remember that no matter how good at heart and well - intentioned any
motorist is, It is human nature to seek out a shorter, quicker route to get home if one exists. If Stoneridge drive
does get extended, imagine all the transient elements it would attract into our presently safe and serene
neighborhoods. It would result in a huge rise In city crime and accidents involving children as we have some
very popular parks along Stoneridge drive today (such as Nielson Park).
What is at risk here is the quality of life of Pleasanton residents. we have core to associate the city with a safe,
tranquil place for families to raise their kids with confidence and comfort. we have great schools, great
neighborhoods and good infrastructure.
In the past. [ have cited examples of cut- through routes in Hayward that have been shut down after the city of
oo
