THE CITY OF 3 <br />~~"' -- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PL~~S~4NTONa <br />February 17, 2009 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: APPOINTMENT TO ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT <br />DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />SUMMARY <br />Edgar Centeno currently serves as the City of Pleasanton's representative to the <br />Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees. Mr. Centeno was <br />originally appointed to the District in June 5, 2001 to fill the unexpired term of the <br />previous representative, which term expired on December 31, 2002. Subsequently, the <br />City Council reappointed him to two-year terms expiring on December 31, 2004, <br />December 31, 2006 and December 31, 2008. <br />Mr. Centeno has served the people of Pleasanton with distinction and is interested in <br />serving an additional term. The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District has no <br />term limitations. The Mayor is recommending that Mr. Centeno be appointed to a fifth <br />term to run from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010. The Council is asked to ratify <br />the Mayor's appointment. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that Council reappoint Edgar Centeno to the Alameda County <br />Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees for the term of January 1, 2009 through <br />December 31, 2010 <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact. <br />Approve by: <br />Nelson Fialho <br />City Manager <br />
