CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 84-258 RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPLICATION OF PONDEROSA HOMES FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO OPERATE A MODEL HOME COMPLEX AT HANSEN DRIVE AND PASEO SANTA CRUZ WHEREAS, Ponderosa Homes made application (UP-84-5) for a conditional use permit to operate a model home complex, sales office and related facilities on six lots at the intersection of the proposed extensions of Hansen Drive and Paseo Santa Cruz; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 25, 1984, the Planning Commission approved the application; and WHEREAS, that approval was appealed to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council received a staff report, minutes of the Planning Commission action, and held a public hearing on May 22, 1984 to receive comments from the applicant and the public; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Council is unable to make the findings required by Sections 2-5.12 and 2-11.08 of the Ordinance Code, in particular findings (a) and (b) required by Section 2-11.08, because of the following: (1) the truck access road to the project is located inappropriately, and truck traffic should be brought in on the first possible turn on Valley Avenue with no construction trucks being allowed to go beyond that point; (2) Hansen Drive from Valley Avenue to the fence at the existing end of the street, plus one block of Calle Reynoso, needs to be completely restructured; (3) that the soundwalls on Valley Avenue need to be completed; and (4) that the flag pole constitutes an inappropriate advertising display. Section 2: The Council, therefore, denies application No. UP-84-5 for conditional use permit.
