Continued to January 6, 2009 -Public Hearing: PAP-129, City Council -Consider an <br />appeal of the Planning Commission's approval of an application by John Pfund for a <br />conditional use permit (PCUP-229) to allow the operation of (1) a martial arts/childcare <br />facility, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.; (2) full-time childcare <br />program camps during school breaks and holidays; and (3) evening martial arts classes, <br />Monday through Friday, from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at 1262 Quarry Lane, Suite A <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember Thorne confirmed the appeal on Item 18 was not returning as the appellant <br />withdrew their appeal and will work with staff to find an alternative location. <br />Councilmember McGovern said she was interested in joining Councilmember Thorne in his <br />efforts to reduce the negative outcome to cities by the State. Councilmember Thorne discussed <br />a survey and discussions with legislators has begun. Mayor Hosterman noted that the next Tri- <br />Valley Councils meeting will be held on February 26'" and they agreed to host State <br />representatives, and the Executive Director will also be present.
