(Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-18.01.02) <br />15.08.040 Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). <br />"Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)" means the <br />measure of oxygen utilized in the biochemical oxidation <br />of [he organic matter in a sample of sewage for five days <br />at 20 degrees centigrade, as determined by the method <br />of testing for BOD pursuant to [he standard methods. <br />(Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-1s.01.03) <br />15.08.050 Capacity. <br />"Capacity" means all or a portion of the total vol- <br />ume of sewage and industrial waste, expressed in terms <br />of gallons per day, average dry weather flow <br />("GPDADWF"), that the city is entitled to collect and <br />discharge into the treatment plant, and which may be <br />allocated to users. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2- <br />15.01.04) <br />15.08.060 Charge. <br />"Charge" means the rental or other charge estab- <br />lished by this title for services and facilities famished by <br />[he city to any premises in connection with the operation <br />of sewer facilities. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2- <br />I s.01.05) <br />15.08.110 Commercial building. <br />"Commercial building" means any building de- <br />voted principally to a nonresidential use allowed by the <br />zoning ordinance codified in Title 18 of this code. (Ord. <br />1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-1s.OLl0) <br />15.08.120 Commercial garbage grinder. <br />"Commercial garbage grinder" means a mechani- <br />cal unit for pulverizing large quantities of wastes by a <br />commercial user. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2- <br />15.01.11) <br />15.08.130 Commercial user. <br />"Commercial user" means any nonresidential user <br />that [he director determines discharges to the sewerage <br />system primarily sanitary sewage. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; <br />prior code § 2-ls.Ol_12) <br />15.08.140 Condominium. <br />"Condominium" means three or more attached <br />dwelling units, consisting of an undivided interest in <br />common in a portion of real property coupled with a <br />separate interest in a space called a dwelling unit. (Ord. <br />189s § I, 2003; Ord. 1203 § 2, 1985; prior code § 2- <br />Is.01.12s) <br />15.08.150 County. <br />"County" means the county of Alameda. (Ord. <br />1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-1s.OL13) <br />15.08.070 Chemical oxygen demand (COD). <br />"Chemical oxygen demand (COD)" means the <br />measure of oxygen utilized in the oxidation of the or- <br />ganic matter in a sample of sewage by a strong oxidant, <br />as determined by the method of testing for COD pursu- <br />ant to the standard methods. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior <br />code § 2-15.01.06) <br />15.08.080 City. <br />"City" means the city of Pleasanton, county of <br />Alameda, state of California. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior <br />code § 2-1s.01.07) <br />15.08.090 City council. <br />"City council" means the city council of the city <br />(Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-15.01.08) <br />15.08.100 City sewer. <br />"City sewer" means any sewer serving as a part of <br />the sewerage system which is owned by the city. (Ord. <br />1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-1s.01.09) <br />15.08.160 Developer. <br />"Developer" means any person who applies [o [he <br />city for permission to build, improve, expand or convert <br />any premises or tract of land to a use which will require <br />the use of, or expanded use of, the sewerage system. <br />(Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-18.01.14) <br />15.08.170 Director. <br />"Director" means the director of public works and <br />utilities for the city or the authorized representative <br />thereof. (Ord. 1082 § 2, 1983; prior code § 2-15.01.1 s) <br />15.08.180 District. <br />"District" means the Dublin-San Ramon services <br />district.
