AGREEMENT This agreement between the City of Pleasanton, the Pleasanton Police Department, and Officer Mark J. Redeker of the Pleasanton Police Department specifies condi- tions and compensations exchanged or required, for the officer and canine, Kimo, to provide canine services for the Pleasanton Police Department. The City of Pleasanton agrees to allow Officer Mark J. Redeker to purchase one male German Shepherd dog, known by the name of Kimo, for $I,OOO.00. Now, therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions herein contained, the parties specified above do agree as follows: Officer Mark J. Redeker agrees to assume the responsibility of providing canine services on an annual renewable basis for $191.OO per'month. Officer Mark J. Redeker agrees as part of the service to maintain the canine's level of abilities by training with a competent canine trainer as determined by theChief of Police. Officer Mark J. Redeker agrees to maintain the canine in a healthful con- dition by providing quarters, nourishment, medical care, and equipment as needed. Officer Mark J. Redeker agrees to perform such training and duties in accordance with proviaing the service as the Chief of Police shall determine- justified. Officer Mark J· Redeker agrees to provide under the specified monthly mone- tary rate canine call-out service and special programs which promote the canine program. Officer Mark J. Redeker agrees to a reduction of the monthly monetary rate when for any reason he cannot provide the service for more than three 8-' hour work shifts in any monthly period· The reduction would be based upon the hourly rate of $1.839 and be levied for those hours of service not pro- vided over the three day period. OffiCer Mark J. Redeker agrees that all non-duty costs for emergency veterinary care for the canine shall be his responsibility· In turn: The City agrees to pay for all approved special training expenses other than normal training required to keep the canine and handler up to re- quired performance level to provide the service.
