CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 84-29 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION TO STATE DEPARTMENT' <br /> OF WATER RESOURCES LEAK DETECTION GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Water Resources is offering <br /> grants of up to $30,000 to selected public and <br /> municipal agencies to cover the costs of a leak <br /> detection program on the water distribution system; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City will save $7.9.5 for every dollar exDended <br /> over a two-year period by participation in this <br /> program and the City's share of matching funds <br /> will probably be expended for leak repair whether <br /> or not we receive the grant funding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after consideration of the staff report Council <br /> determines that it is appropriate to apply for <br /> these grant funds; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorizes the City Staff to apply to the State <br /> Department of Water Resources Leak Detection Grant <br /> Program and authorizes the application to be <br /> signed by the Director of Public Works and Utilities <br /> or the City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 24, 1984 BY THE FOLLOWING <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and <br /> Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> ~.R.
