CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 84-19 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION-APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY <br /> OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND THE SAFETY ELEMENT OF THE <br /> GENERAL PLAN WITH REGARD TO SMOKE, GLARE, LIGHTING, <br /> ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE, AND OTHER NAVIGATION <br /> HAZARDS IN FLIGHT ZONES NEAR AVIATION FACILITIES <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 9, 1984, the City Council <br /> received a proposed application for a General Plan <br /> Amendment to the Safety Element to satisfy state <br /> law which requires that city general plans be <br /> consistent with adopted Airmort Land Use Commission <br /> Plans; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council considered a report, together with attachments, <br /> from the Director of Planning and Community Development <br /> regarding the proposed General Plan amendment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, based on the Initial Environmental Study indicating <br /> no significant adverse effects on the environment, <br /> a negative declaration was adopted by Council on <br /> January 9, 1984; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on January 9, <br /> 1984 at which time any member of the public was <br /> offered the opportunity to address the City Council <br /> on said amendment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after the close of the ~ublic hearing the City <br /> Council deliberated u~on the proposed amendment, <br /> considering the information set forth in the <br /> re~ort of the Director of Planning and attachments <br /> thereto, as well as the information contained in <br /> the initial study leading to the negative declaration <br /> for said amendment; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The City Council approves the application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to amend the Safety Element of <br /> the General Plan to incorporate the attached sub- <br /> goal, policy statement and implementation program <br /> regarding smoke, glare, lighting, electrical <br /> interference, and other navigation hazards in <br />- flight zones near aviation facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
