Assisted living units have large central kitchens or kitchenettes and not
;~r~N FULL/Complkitchens and would not be counted against the housing cap.
We agree with the staff report (pg 8) and I quote "It would appeaz that a road,
such as the Bypass Road, that is intended to serve existing development could be
built on slopes greater than 25% in that the grading for the road would not be for
the purpose of constructing new residential or commercial structures."
We agree with Interpretation #1 regarding subdivision of a legal pazcel. (pg. 19)
Finally, we agree with the staffreport conclusion and I quote (pg. 39) "The Save
Pleasanton's Hills and Housing Cap initiative has highlighted longstanding
community dedication to regulating hillside development, and firmly adhering to
the housing cap and growth management. ... the initiative has been a catalyst for
the expected update of hillside development regulations and grading ordinance to
reaffirm City goals for open space and view protection, as well as sensitive,
planned housing development."
We appreciate the City Staffs efforts to identify all the issues related to the
initiative. We believe that this statement of intent clarifies the majority of the
issues that some people believed to be "ambiguous". Based on these
clazifications, there is no need for the Council to place any sort of complimentary
or competing measure on the ballot. We ask that the initiative stand on its own in
November to allow the people of Pleasanton make this decision.
1~fY~U~- ~/ZO~n~
~3z~ ;~-e~ edc~
~C~as~~~
