8) Decrease dependency on carbon fuels <br />9) Reduce the burden of infrastructure maintenance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1. This Council strongly supports and endorses Alameda County's <br />participation in the 2010 Campaign for Active Transportation which has a goal of doubling <br />federal funding for trails, walking and biking in the next federal transportation reauthorization <br />and attracting $50 million of this funding to Alameda County to implement its Active <br />Transportation Plan. <br />SECTION 2.
