Okamura December 3, 1985 Page 5 Task 14 - Construction Inspection Make visits to the site at intervals appropriate to the various stages of construction to observe, as an experienced and qualified design profes- sional, the progress and quality of the executed work of Contractor and to determine in general if such work is proceeding in accordance with the Con- tract Documents. CDM shall not be required to make exhaustive or continu- ous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of such work. CDM shall not be responsible for the means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures of construction selected by Contractor or by the safety precau- tions and programs incident to the work of Contractor. CDM's efforts will be directed toward providing a greater degree of confidence for the City that the completed work of Contractor will conform to the Contract Docu- ments, but CDM shall not be responsible for the failure of Contractor to perform the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. During such visits and on the basis of on-site observations, CDM shall keep the City informed of the progress of the work, shall endeavor to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in such work, and may disapprove or reject work as failing to conform to the Contract Documents. Task 15 - Final Inspection. Conduct an inspection to determine if the project is substantially complete and a final inspection to determine if the work has been completed in accordance with the Contract Documents and if Contractor has fulfilled all of his obligations thereunder so that CDM may give written notice to the City that the work is acceptable. Task 16 - Prepare As-Built Drawings. Prepare as-built drawings of all water system improvements, except the individual booster pump systems, based on record as-built information supplied to CDM by the Contractor as required by the Contract Documents. CDM shall furnish the City one set of reproducible as-built drawings. ADDITIONAL CDM SERVICES CDM is available to perform additional services if authorized by the City. These additional services could include the following: · Preparation or review of environmental assessments and impact statements. · Quantity surveys of material, equipment, or labor. · Services after completion of the construction, such as inspections during any guarantee period and reporting observed discrepancies under guarantees.
