Okamura <br />December 3, 1985 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Task 14 - Construction Inspection <br /> <br />Make visits to the site at intervals appropriate to the various stages of <br />construction to observe, as an experienced and qualified design profes- <br />sional, the progress and quality of the executed work of Contractor and to <br />determine in general if such work is proceeding in accordance with the Con- <br />tract Documents. CDM shall not be required to make exhaustive or continu- <br />ous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of such work. CDM <br />shall not be responsible for the means, methods, techniques, sequences, or <br />procedures of construction selected by Contractor or by the safety precau- <br />tions and programs incident to the work of Contractor. CDM's efforts will <br />be directed toward providing a greater degree of confidence for the City <br />that the completed work of Contractor will conform to the Contract Docu- <br />ments, but CDM shall not be responsible for the failure of Contractor to <br />perform the work in accordance with the Contract Documents. During such <br />visits and on the basis of on-site observations, CDM shall keep the City <br />informed of the progress of the work, shall endeavor to guard the City <br />against defects and deficiencies in such work, and may disapprove or reject <br />work as failing to conform to the Contract Documents. <br /> <br />Task 15 - Final Inspection. <br /> <br />Conduct an inspection to determine if the project is substantially complete <br />and a final inspection to determine if the work has been completed in <br />accordance with the Contract Documents and if Contractor has fulfilled all <br />of his obligations thereunder so that CDM may give written notice to the <br />City that the work is acceptable. <br /> <br />Task 16 - Prepare As-Built Drawings. <br /> <br />Prepare as-built drawings of all water system improvements, except the <br />individual booster pump systems, based on record as-built information <br />supplied to CDM by the Contractor as required by the Contract Documents. <br />CDM shall furnish the City one set of reproducible as-built drawings. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL CDM SERVICES <br /> <br />CDM is available to perform additional services if authorized by the City. <br />These additional services could include the following: <br /> <br /> · Preparation or review of environmental assessments and impact <br /> statements. <br /> <br /> · Quantity surveys of material, equipment, or labor. <br /> <br /> · Services after completion of the construction, such as inspections <br /> during any guarantee period and reporting observed discrepancies <br /> under guarantees. <br /> <br /> <br />
