¢~D~J~ CAMP DRESSER & McKEE INC.
environmental engineers, scientists,
planners. &management consultants 710 South Broadway, Suite 201
Walnut Creek, California 94596
415 933-2900

Mr. Robert T. Okamura
City Engineer
City of Pleasanton
P.O. Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566

Water System Improvements

Dear Bob:

In performing the Water Master Plan study, we have determined that addi-
tional water system improvements are needed in 1986 for the City to con-
tinue to provide adequate water service throughout Pleasanton. During the
past several months, we have discussed these needs and on May 13th, we
wrote a letter to Bob Warnick describing in detail the needed improvements.

On September 4th we submitted a proposal to you and, as a result of our re-
cent discussion regarding the proposal, you requested that we prepare a
revised proposal that would separate out the initial work on two of the
water system improvements. We have done as you requested and are pleased
to submit this revised proposal.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The needed improvements are:

1. A new turnout from the Zone 7 system to meet 1986 and future deli-
very needs. Also, remove pipe and valve restrictions at the
existing Turnout Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Estimated Cost of Construction: $200,000 for new turnout, and
$10,000 each for the four existing turnouts = $240,000.

2. A relocated Foothill Booster Pump Station No. I that would be con-
structed downhill from the existing pump station on Longview
Drive. With the pump station at a lower elevation, the suction
pressure for the pumps will be appropriate. Some of the existing
pumps, motors, piping, and electrical service may be utilized at
the new site.

Estimated Cost of Construction: $150,000

3. New pump, motor, piping, and electrical facilities at individual
booster pump systems for homes west of Foothill Road that will be

DEC 1985
