THE CITY OF 12 <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~NTONo <br />December 2, 2008 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FOOTHILL HIGH SCHOOL'S <br />ONE CLUB <br />SUMMARY <br />Foothill High School students began ONE Club in August 2007 and now have over 25 <br />members promoting the awareness of local and global poverty and how individuals can <br />make a difference. <br />ONE Club encourages students and residents to learn of humanitarian organizations <br />and to expand their knowledge about local and global issues of poverty that affect <br />everyone. The Club's current goals are focused around engaging the community and <br />encouraging volunteerism and fundraising to benefit local and global organizations that <br />focus on ending poverty and serving the less fortunate. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt the attached Resolution supporting Foothill High Schools ONE Club <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />None <br />
