The committee's programs for marketing Pleasanton's <br />downtown have included advertisements in local and regional media (newspapers, magazines, visitor's <br />guides, radio, etc.), PDA brochures and a website that features an online business directory as well as <br />available properties. Quarterly, the committee selects one downtown property owner or business to <br />receive the NEAT (Neighborhood Environrnent Attractiveness Team) Awazd who is then recognized in <br />the Pleasanton Weekly. Within the committee aze the Ambassadors Subcommittee with 13 volunteers and <br />a five member Banner Taskforce. <br />Economic Restructuring: The Downtown Vitality Committee includes seven board members <br />and approximately eight volunteers and property owners. The committee works to improve the economic <br />vitality of downtown. The committee continues to assist the existing businesses and property owners in <br />the district through information, networking and programs. Within the committee aze the Pazking <br />Subcommittee and the newly formed Division Street Taskforce and South Main Entrance Taskforce. <br />Design: The Design & Beautification Committee includes two boazd members and approximately <br />six volunteers. This committee is involved in recommending and commenting on planning and design <br />issues to the City. They aze also involved in coordinating with the City to implement projects in the <br />Downtown Specific Plan. The Murals Subcommittee and the Kiosk Taskforce are under the oversight of <br />the Design Committee. <br />SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS <br />The PDA recorded another successful year, with a number of significant accomplishments: <br />^ Organized and orchestrated a total of 33 events: five First Wednesday Street Parties; one Antiques <br />Faire; 13 Concerts in the Park; one Heritage Days; one Hops & Vines Fall Fest; two Wine Strolls; <br />two Sidewalk Sales; one Magical Holiday Evening; one Annual Dinner; one Breakfast with the <br />Boazd; one Property Owners Luncheon; three membership mixers; and one movie to support the <br />Library's Big Read. The PDA also co-sponsors the July 4w activities and the Hometown Holiday <br />Celebration. <br />^ Joined the City of Pleasanton, the Chamber of Commerce and others to become a Community of <br />Chazacter Organization. <br />^ Worked to increase strategic alliances and collaborated with community partners: Pleasanton <br />PazaTransit, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, Campana Jazz Festival, Amador Theater, <br />Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation, Valley Humane Society, Museum on Main, Pleasanton <br />Pubiic Library, Pleasanton Heritage Association, Alameda County Fairgrounds, Livermore Valley <br />Winegrowers Association, and Tri-Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau. <br />^ Became more proactive toward filling downtown vacancies by continuing to maintain an <br />inventory of potential tenants; assist property owners in listing available properties; work with the <br />City's Economic Development Director; meet with property owners, tenants, potential tenants and <br />commercial agents; and subscribe to Retail Lease Trak Online Service. <br />^ Spent over $45,000 to increase mazketing of the PDA: <br />o Launched our Downtown Pleasanton Gift Card. The PDA initially started working towazd <br />this goal over three yeazs ago. As one of only a handful of downtowns in the nation to <br />implement a downtown gift card program, the PDA was invited to speak at this yeaz's <br />California Downtown Association state conference. <br />o Produced 30,000 Experience Downtown Pleasanton brochures. The brochure incorporates <br />2 maps, the calendaz of events and a membership directory distributed to 20,000 homes via <br />the Pleasanton Weekly. <br />o Produced 10,000 Downtown Pleasanton Visitors Guide (new) <br />
