CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-565 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE THE CONCEPT OF <br /> FORMING A JOINT POWERS AGENCY TO IMPLEMENT THE <br /> LIVERMORE-AMADOR VALLEY WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT PLANNING <br /> STUDY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton has <br /> recognized the need for additional sewage treatment and <br /> wastewater export capacity to allow continued <br /> development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pleasanton joined with Alameda County and the Dublin San <br /> Ramon Services District to prepare a study identifying <br /> alternatives to meet the needed sewage treatment and <br /> wastewater export needs for the Livermore-Amador Valley <br /> through the year 2010; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is now necessary to form the appropriate agency to <br /> continue to take the actions required to proceed with <br /> the planning that would ultimately lead to the <br /> completion of a project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council does desire to show the Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board that progress is being made toward <br /> solving the sewage treatment and wastewater export <br /> requirements for the Livermore-Amador Valley; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council approves in principle the concept of <br /> forming a Joint Powers Agency to implement the <br /> Livermore-Amador Valley wastewater Management Planning <br /> Study. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City staff is instructed to send copies of this <br /> resolution to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, <br /> the Dublin San Ramon Services District Board of <br /> Directors, the City of Livermore City Council and the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
