PLEASANTON ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING COMMITTEE
October 1, 1985

HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL "-
Pleasanton, California

Environmental Monitoring Committee Year End Report

Members of the council:

Background

At the July 24, 1984 meeting of the City CounCil, your Council
adopted Resolution No. 84-374 which created a 9 citizen
Environmental Monitoring Committee working under the auspices of
the City Planning Department. This Committee was instructed per
the adopted resolution to:

review, cooperatively with staff, the conditions of approval
for our business parks; to assess ways of monitoring for
compliance with those conditions; to recommend mitigation
measures where needed; and to recommend a preferred ongoing
method for monitoring, with the anticipated time frame
projected to be one year.

The Environmental Monitoring Committee held their first meeting
on October 3, 1984 and have held 16 subsequent meetings in order
to complete the tasks outlined in Resolution No. 84-374.

At this time it is the intent of the Environmental Monitoring
Committee to report back to your Council with this report on our
methods of research and subsequent findings. We have attached-
the working papers of each subcommittee to be used as a resource
in reviewing this report. These working papers represent the
methods by which the Committee made its findings and formulated
final recommendations. There were numerous issues raised and
discussed within the working papers that were not included in the
committee's final report because either the issues were resolved
or it was determined that no further action was needed.

Based on our findings we are requesting that Council reappoint
the Committee to continue working in a similar capacity as the
last year, to review, recommend and implement adjustments to
specific existing and recommended environmental monitoring
programs within the City.
