I~:.--~ our understanding that the City of <br /> Pleasanton desires a feasibility study to be performed relative to <br /> handling East Amador sewage flows. The terminus of the new East <br /> Amador trunk sewer is 26-feet below grade. Consequently, sewage <br /> could not flow by gravity to the existing wet well and be lifted by <br /> the existing pumps. We also considered lifting the sewage from the <br /> new trunk sewer to the existing East Amador Pumping Station wet well, <br /> but the cost for the alternative would be about the same as <br /> alternative 2 with no operational advantage. Two alternatives for <br /> pumping sewage from the new trunk sewer appear to be applicable at <br /> this time. Because the cost of deepening the existing wet well and <br /> d~y well would be prohibitive, we dismissed this alternative. The <br /> applicable alternatives are as follows: <br /> <br /> Alternative 1 <br /> <br /> Provide a single pumping station to handle 'the combined flows from <br /> the existing East Amador Pumping Station and from Pleasanton's new <br /> East Arnador trunk sewer, which terminates at the southeast corner of <br /> the Stoneridge Drive and Johnson Drive intersection. <br /> <br /> Alternative 2 <br /> <br /> Provide a new pumping station to lift the new East Amador trunk sewer <br /> flows to meet the wastewater treatment plant wet well elevation. <br /> <br /> OCT 7 985 <br /> <br />P O BOx 8045 WALNUT CREEK.
