ATTACHMENT2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 08-231 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />AUTHORIZING AND RATIFYING EXECUTION OF A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE PLEASANTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE CALIFORNIA <br />HIGHWAY PATROL FOR THE TRI-VALLEY SAFETY CHALLENGE GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Calffomia Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Pleasanton Police Department <br />seek to perform grant-funded traffic safety awareness and enforcement activities under the Tri- <br />Valley Safety Challenge, State of Califomia Office of Business, Transportation and Housing <br />Agency Grant No. PT0813 and CHP Agreement No. 8C390005-0; and <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department agrees to provide personnel to conduct <br />such operations in conjunction with the CHP Dublin Area personnel during the Program <br />Operations Phase from August 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008; and <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department agrees to complete, and submit monthly, <br />a report of all activity completed under this grant-funded overtime to CHP Dublin Area Office; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, for services satisfactorily rendered and upon receipt of the invoices, the <br />State agrees to reimburse the Pleasanton Police Department for actual expenditures incurred <br />for such operations in accordance wfth the rates sper~ed by the agreement, up to a maximum <br />grant of $12,000.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1. Authorizes and ratifies the City Manager's execution of the Standard <br />Agreement between the Califomia Highway Patrol and the Pleasanton Police Department for <br />the Tri-Valley Safety Challenge grant, Agreement No. SC390005-0; which was previously <br />executed pursuant to the authority granted in Pleasanton Municipal Code §2.08.070. <br />SECTION 2. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter k into <br />the book of original resolutions. <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br />a regular meeting held on the 19"' day of August 2008. <br />I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, Califomia, certify that the foregoing <br />resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on August 19, 2008 by the <br />following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Vice Mayor Thorne <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Mayor Hosterman <br />Abstain: None <br />
