7 <br />THE CITY OF <br />- - CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~4NTONe <br />November 4, 2008 <br />Police Department <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 08-231 <br />APPROVING MINOR CHANGES REGARDING THE AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL AND THE <br />PLEASANTON POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE RECEIPT OF GRANT <br />FUNDS FOR POLICE ASSISTANCE WITH IN THE TRI-VALLEY SAFETY <br />CHALLENGE <br />SUMMARY <br />The California Highway Patrol has requested and amendment to its Standard <br />Agreement with the City for the purpose of providing funding for the Tri-Valley Safety <br />Challenge grant administered by the Pleasanton Police Department. The amendment <br />extends the program from December 31, 2008 to June 30, 2009 and increases the <br />maximum grant amount from $12,000 to $23,000. Similar to the existing grant, the <br />Pleasanton Police Department will provide personnel to conduct traffic safety <br />awareness and enforcement activities in conjunction with the California Highway <br />Patrol's Dublin Area personnel. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the attached resolution amending Resolution (Attachment 1) concerning a <br />cooperative agreement between the Pleasanton Police Department and the California <br />Highway Patrol for the Tri-Valley Safety Challenge grant. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no financial impact as a result of this action as anticipated Police Department <br />staff time, including overtime, used to participate in the CHP's Tri-Valley Safety <br />Challenge will be reimbursed by the grant funding. <br />Submitted by: <br />ael Fraser <br />Chief of Police <br />Fiscal Review: <br />~~ <br />D va id P.
