Approved plans and specifications, reviewed bids and awarded and authorized the City <br />Manager to execute a construction contract to McGuire and Hester in the amount of <br />$454,855 for the Marilyn Murphy Kane Trail Project, CIP No. 087032, authorized the <br />Director of Community Development to approve and execute change orders not to exceed <br />$90,971 and the transfer of $152,000 from CIP No. 047021, Bernal Property Trail <br />Reserve, to CIP No. 0032, Marilyn Murphy Kane Trail in the amount of $500,000 <br />Steve Brozosky said Marilyn Kane gave him the inspiration to co-author Measure V, the Bernal <br />Property Initiative, which passed to keep housing off of the property and make amulti-use park. <br />He discussed the design and recognized Ms. Kane for her vision and for her family donating <br />$500,000 for the trail. <br />4. Pulled from the agenda -Approve consultant services contract with Ruggeri, Jensen, Azar <br />and Associates (RJA) in the amount of $61,600 for the design of the Vineyard Trail, CIP <br />No. 087049 <br />Steve Brozosky voiced concern regarding not being noticed and thanked staff for pulling the <br />item. <br />Karen Martens noted that Gary Jensen contributed money to the Mayor's campaign and <br />questioned if she would need to recuse herself from the vote. <br />5. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute an on-call consultant contract with <br />Alexander and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $25,000 for map checking services <br />Mavor and Citv Council <br />6. Issued Veteran's Day proclamation commending and expressing gratitude to the residents <br />of Pleasanton who have served in the United States Armed Forces since September 11, <br />2001 and recognizing their service, sacrifice, success and heroism <br />Operations Services <br />7. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a Streetlight License Agreement <br />with PG&E for its Smartmeter Program <br />Karen Martens said PG&E donated $5,000 to the PAC and questioned whether the license <br />agreement would enable money to return to PG&E. Councilmember McGovern said the City is <br />leasing this to them and they are paying a small fee. <br />8. Waived second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 1984 adding Chapter 15.44, <br />Protection of Sanitary Sewer System from Fats, Oil, and Grease, to the Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code <br />Parks and Community Services <br />9. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Attention Business <br />Communications in the amount of $27,200 for marketing and publicity services for the <br />Civic Arts Division <br />Motion: It was m/s by McGovern/Thorne to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as <br />noted.
