CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE "DOWNTOWN PLEASANTON BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT" AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF CHARGES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Establishment of Area. There is currently existing in the City of Pleasanton, the "Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District" pursuant to the provisions of the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1979, as set forth in the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Sections 36000 et seq.). Section 2: Resolution of Intention. The City Council on August 20, 1985 adopted Resolution No. 85-397, entitled "Resolution of Intention to Modify the 'Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District"'. Section 3: Hearing. A hearing was held at the City Council Chambers in the City of Pleasanton on September 3, 1985 to consider the establishment of the "Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District" and to hear any protests or concerns relating to that action. Section 4: Boundaries. The boundaries of the District shall be as shown on the attached map (Exhibit A). Section 5: Subject to State Law. The businesses in the District and operation of the District shall be subject to any amendments to the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1979. Section 6: Purposes. The purposes for which the funds raised by said charges shall be used are the statutory purposes set forth in Section 36000 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, or one or more of said purposes, which are as follows: (a) The acquisition, construction or maintenance of parking facilities for the benefit of the area. (b) Decoration of any public place in the area. (c) Promotion of public events which are to take place on or in public places in the areas.
