CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE "DOWNTOWN PLEASANTON BUSINESS <br /> IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT" AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF <br /> CHARGES <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Establishment of Area. There is currently existing <br /> in the City of Pleasanton, the "Downtown Pleasanton <br /> Business Improvement District" pursuant to the <br /> provisions of the Parking and Business Improvement Area <br /> Law of 1979, as set forth in the Streets and Highways <br /> Code of the State of California (Sections 36000 et <br /> seq.). <br /> <br />Section 2: Resolution of Intention. The City Council on <br /> August 20, 1985 adopted Resolution No. 85-397, entitled <br /> "Resolution of Intention to Modify the 'Downtown <br /> Pleasanton Business Improvement District"'. <br /> <br />Section 3: Hearing. A hearing was held at the City Council <br /> Chambers in the City of Pleasanton on September 3, 1985 <br /> to consider the establishment of the "Downtown <br /> Pleasanton Business Improvement District" and to hear <br /> any protests or concerns relating to that action. <br /> <br />Section 4: Boundaries. The boundaries of the District shall be <br /> as shown on the attached map (Exhibit A). <br /> <br />Section 5: Subject to State Law. The businesses in the District <br /> and operation of the District shall be subject to any <br /> amendments to the Parking and Business Improvement Area <br /> Law of 1979. <br /> <br />Section 6: Purposes. The purposes for which the funds raised by <br /> said charges shall be used are the statutory purposes <br /> set forth in Section 36000 of the Streets and Highways <br /> Code of the State of California, or one or more of said <br /> purposes, which are as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) The acquisition, construction or maintenance of <br /> parking facilities for the benefit of the area. <br /> <br /> (b) Decoration of any public place in the area. <br /> <br /> (c) Promotion of public events which are to take place <br /> on or in public places in the areas. <br /> <br /> <br />
