15
THE CITY OF
[~L£~1Sf~NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
October 21, 2008
Community Development
Traffic Division
TITLE: ADOPT RESOLUTION UPDATING THE TRI-VALLEY TRANSPORTATION
DEVELOPMENT FEE
SUMMARY
The Tri-Valley Traffic Fee was implemented in 1998 to pay for eleven sub-regional
projects. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council oversees the collection of this fee and
implementation of the projects. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council has completed an
update to the project list and identified new projects in addition to the original eleven
projects and has recommended an update to the Tri-Valley Traffic Fee to support the
completion of the original and new projects.
It should be noted that several TVTC member agencies have gone to their Councils and
supported the TVTC Fee increase but have revised their resolutions regarding the
project priorities.
RECOMMENDATION
Consider the revised resolution language of the other TVTC member agencies and
provide direction for a resolution to update the Tri-Valley Transportation Development
Fee to include a new list of projects and a new fee rate schedule.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The Tri-Valley Transportation Fee is collected for every development project in the City
of Pleasanton. These fees go directly into the Tri-Valley Traffic Fee account for use on
the identified projects. There would be a small financial impact to the City of Pleasanton
due to an increase in the development fee for new City-owned buildings constructed
after the fee increase takes effect.
