tJ <br />THE CITY OF <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£t~S~4NTONo <br />October 21, 2008 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: AWARD OF CONTRACT TO ATTENTION BUSINESS <br />COMMUNICATIONS FOR MARKETING AND PUBLICITY SERIVCES <br />FOR THE CIVIC ARTS DIVISION <br />SUMMARY <br />The Parks and Community Services Department is requesting approval to renew its <br />contract with Attention Business Communications for development and distribution of <br />publicity materials, and coordination of marketing events, that support various Civic Arts <br />Programs. Managed by Barbara Lewis, Attention Business Communications has been <br />successfully providing these services since 1999. Specific marketing/publicity <br />strategies have been utilized for Civic Arts Presents programs, School Concert series, <br />Poetry Prose and Arts Festival, Free Shakespeare in the Park, and the Children's Arts <br />Festival. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Attention <br />Business Communications for marketing and publicity services for FY 2008/09, in an <br />amount not to exceed $27,200. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this contract in the amount of $27,200 is included in the FY 2008-2009 <br />operating budget for the Civic Arts Division. <br />
