Commissioner Barker amended page 17, paragraph 3, sentences 1 and 2, to read as follows: <br />"In response to a question by Commissioner Barker, Mr. Iserson noted that the project would <br />go on to City Council through an appeal and will be on the same time schedule. He also noted <br />that the Commission's recommendations on all other issues would be reflected in the minutes <br />for the City Council to review". <br />Chair Cooper amended page 15, final paragraph, sentence 1, to read as follows: "Chair Cooper <br />feels that it is regrettable that the issue of affordable housing was never raised in this project <br />prior to this evening's meeting and that it would be unreasonable to deny the project at this <br />point". <br />3. REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Jerry Iserson reported that item 6d, PUD-31-30-75D, Shaklee, has been continued to the January <br />28, 1998, meeting. <br />5. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />a. UP-97-56. Laura Darrow <br />Application for anon-exempt home occupation approval to conduct piano and voice lessons <br />in an existing residence located at 7760 Cottonwood Lane. Zoning for the property is R-1- <br />65 (Single Family Residence) District <br />Jerry Iserson presented the staff report giving the history of the application. He noted the <br />proposed days and hours of operation and stated that the applicant will conduct the lessons from <br />her living room, which is located toward to the front of her home. He stated that all lessons are <br />private and that no recitals or programs would be held in the home. <br />Mr. Iserson advised the Commission of a neighbor across the street from the applicant, Mr. <br />Len Pedro, who objects to this home occupation because he can hear music coming from the <br />home. However, staff noted that the noise Mr. Pedro has complained of is from wood <br />instruments and that the applicant teaches only piano and voice lessons.
