<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-292
<br />
<br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO ROBERT QUATMAN,
<br /> INC., FOR MOLLER PARK, PROJECT 85-1, AND TO VALLEY CREST
<br /> LANDSCAPE, INC. FOR OAKHILL PARK, PROJECT NO. 85-2
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for Moller
<br /> Park, Project No. 85-1, and Oakhill Park, Project No.
<br /> 85-2; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the
<br /> City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids
<br /> regarding this project in three phases - one for Moller
<br /> Park, one for Oakhill Park, and a bid for the
<br /> combination of the two parks; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on June 18, 1985;
<br /> and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the bid of Robert Quatman, Inc., in the amount of
<br /> $289,458.86 was determined to be the lowest responsible
<br /> bid for Project 85-1, Moller Park; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the bid of Valley Crest Landscape, Inc. in the amount of
<br /> $227,108.15 was determine to be the lowest responsible
<br /> bid for Project 85-1, Oakhill Park; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the bids for Moller and Oakhill Parks combined were not
<br /> less than the two individual bids described above and
<br /> the two combined bids received should be rejected; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended
<br /> that the bids of Robert Quatman, Inc. and Valley Crest
<br /> Landscape, Inc. be accepted;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
<br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />Section 1: The bid of Robert Quatman, Inc., in the amount of
<br /> $289,458.86, for Moller Park, Project No. 85-1, is
<br /> hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest
<br /> responsible b'id.
<br />
<br />Section 2: The bid of Valley Crest Landscape, Inc., in the
<br /> amount of $227,108.15, for Oakhill Park, Project No.
<br /> 85-2, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the
<br /> lowest responsible bid.
<br />
<br />Section 3: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with
<br /> Robert Quatman, Inc. and a contract with Valley Crest
<br /> Landscape, Inc. for the improvements specified above.
