3 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-~-' "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L~t~S~4NTONo <br />September 2, 2008 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: DESIGNATION OF VOTING DELEGATE FOR THE 2008 LEAGUE OF <br />CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE <br />SUMMARY <br />The League of California Cities 2008 Annual Conference is scheduled for September <br />24-27 in Long Beach. An important part of this Conference is the Annual Business <br />Meeting. At this meeting, the League membership considers and takes action on <br />resolutions that establish League policy. In order to vote on the proposed resolutions <br />the City Council must designate a voting delegate in advance of the conference. <br />The current Council representative to the League of California Cities East Bay Division <br />is Vice Mayor Thorne and consistent with past practice, he would serve as the voting <br />delegate. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Designate Vice Mayor Thorne as the City's voting delegate for the 2008 League of <br />California Cities Annual Conference. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no financial impact as a result of this action. <br />Submi d by: <br />Nelson Fialho <br />City Manager <br />
