Actions of the Planning Commission -August 13. 2008 <br />Commissioners Present: Phil Blank, Kathy Narum, Greg O'Connor, Arne Olson, and <br />Jennifer Pearce. <br />Commissioners Absent: Anne Fox. <br />Application for a conditional use permit to allow the operation of the following at <br />1262 Quarry Lane, Suite A, in the Valley Business Park: (1) a martial arts/childcare <br />facility, Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.; (2) full-time childcare <br />program camps during school breaks and holidays; and (3) evening martial arts classes, <br />Monday through Friday, from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Zoning for the property is PUD-I <br />(Planned Unit Development -Industrial) District. <br />This item was continued by Commissioner Fox; The Commission voted to hold a <br />Special Meeting on Thursday, August 28, 2008, to hear this item. <br />Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's approval of an application for design review for rear <br />yard improvements at the existing residence located at 927 Montevino Drive. Zoning for <br />the property is R-1-6,500 (Single-Family Residential) District. <br />This item was continued by staff to a future meeting. <br />PAP-724 (PSDR-3281. Craig Sioberg <br />Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's approval of an application for sign design review for <br />building and monument signage at 5000 Pleasanton Avenue. Zoning for the property is <br />PUD-O (Planned Unit Development -Office) District. <br />Staff Recommended: Deny the appeal, thereby upholding the Zoning Administrator's <br />approval. <br />Action Taken: Approved the appeal, thereby overturning the Zoning Administrator's <br />approval of only one building sign, thus allowing two second-story signs <br />in addition to the new monument sign, with the modification that the word <br />"Institute" be removed from the second-story sign. <br />Vote: 5-0. <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
