CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-121 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DENYING APPLICATION OF CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br /> REZONE AN APPROXIMATELY SIX ACRE AREA ON THE NORTH AND <br /> SOUTH SIDES OF ST. MARYS STREET AND THE NORTH SIDE OF <br /> DIVISION STREET BETWEEN PETERS AVENUE AND THE WESTERN <br /> PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY FROM THE R-1-6500 DISTRICT <br /> TO THE RM-1500 DISTRICT (RZ-85-2) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton made application to rezone a six <br /> acre area on the north and south sides of St. Marys <br /> Street and the north side of Division Street between <br /> Peters Avenue and the Western Pacific Railroad <br /> right-of-way from the R-1-6500 (Single-family <br /> Residential) District to the RM-1500 (Multiple-family <br /> Residential) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council received the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation for approval of the proposed rezoning; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on March 12, <br /> 1985; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council was urged at the public hearing to deny the <br /> application as the proposed zoning would be too dense <br /> and would detract from the charm of the old downtown <br /> area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Residential Review Committee had reqested that this <br /> area be included in their study for review and <br /> recommendation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Denies the application to rezone a six acre area on <br /> the north and south sides of St. Marys Street and the <br /> north side of Division Street between Peters Avenue and <br /> the Western Pacific Railroad right-of-way from the <br /> R-1-6500 (Single-family Residential) District to the <br /> RM-1500 (Multiple-family Residential) District (Case <br /> RZ-85-2). <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
