CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 85-108 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO WHALEN CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., FOR SOFTBALL FIELD ACCESS ROAD - PLEASANTON SCHOOL (BERNAL AVENUE), PROJECT NO. 84-21 WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for the construction of the Softball Field Access Road - Pleasanton School (Bernal Avenue), Project No. 84-21; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on March 12, 1985; and WHEREAS, the bid of Whalen Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $64,000.00 was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Whalen Construction Co., Inc. be accepted; and WHEREAS, the available funds to complete this project are $55,000, therefore, it will be necessary to appropriate an additional $12,000 to cover the estimated contract cost and approximately 5% contingency; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The bid of Whalen Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $64,000, for construction of the Softball Field Access Road - Pleasanton School (Bernal Avenue), Project No. 84-21, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with for the improvements specified above. Section 3: An additional $12,000 is appropriated for the above project. Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
