RESOLUTION NO. 08-225 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE METROPOLITAN <br />TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TDA FUNDS FOR THE <br />VALLEY AVENUE BICYCLE GAP CLOSURE PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) requires a resolution of <br />support for Transportation Development Act (TDA) applications; and <br />WHEREAS, Article 3 of the Transportation Development Act (TDA), Public Utilities Code <br />(PUC) Section 99200 et seq., authorizes the submission of claims to a regional transportation <br />planning agency for the funding of projects exclusively for the benefit and/or use of pedestrians <br />and bicyclists; and <br />WHEREAS, the Valley Avenue Bicycle Gap Closure Project will promote pedestrian and <br />bicycle travel; and <br />WHEREAS, City's Staff Traffic Committee have reviewed various projects; and <br />WHEREAS, this project is categorically exempt under the requirements of CEQA. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1. The Pleasanton City Council authorizes submittal of the project <br />application and subsequent submittal of claims for payment. <br />SECTION 2.
