Maintenance and Operation Fund <br /> <br />The Water Maintenance and Operation Fund provides the funds to <br />meet the cost of maintaining the city's water system, inc].uding <br />underground wells, mains, and water storage facilities, as well <br />as payments to Zone 7 for the purchase of water. <br /> <br />The Water Fund ending fund balance at June 30, ]985 j.s projected <br />to be approximately $34. G~aG4 less than estimated at the time the <br />budget w~s adopted, This is mainly due to an anticipated <br />i. ncrease i.n the purchase of water from Zone 7 ($300,000 and the <br />recommended addition, as of April 1, 1985, of a Utility Clerk to <br />aSS.i. St j.n Utility billa. ng and meter reading Personal <br />0ost--$7~58~ <br /> <br />The beginning fund ba]ance and projected revenues are greater <br />· than the estimates made last spring as shown jn the Water Fund <br />Summary below. At the time the budget was reviewed last year by <br />Council, staff estimated the beginning Water Maintenance and <br />Operation Fund balance for fiscal. year 1984/85 to be $$803,000. <br />However. the actual audited fund balance was $~01,140; for an <br />additjonaJ amount of $~8,14~.
