CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-50 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAY INCREASE FOR CROSSING GUARDS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during the past several years it has been a major task <br /> to recruit persons as crossing guards; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since this type of employee has no other benefits, the <br /> city should increase the hourly pay rate to be more <br /> competitive with other jobs offered in this area; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The Police Department budget is hereby amended in the <br /> amount of $4,232 for an hourly pay rate increase for <br /> school crossing guards which will increase the hourly <br /> rate to $5.69 for crossing guards with less than five <br /> years' service, and $6.00 for senior crossing guards. <br /> <br /> Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 22, 1985 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: ~ <br /> R.
