CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 85-20 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF COUNTY FUNDING OF THE CURA <br /> FAMILY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CURA Family currently provides residential treatment <br /> to a monthly average of 41 individuals, 17 women and 24 <br /> men primarily from South County, which is well above the <br /> 33-bed contract previously held by the program, and CURA <br /> maintains a waiting list of t0 individuals screened and <br /> acceptable for treatment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CURA is the only South County provider competing for the <br /> current RFP and is the only established residential <br /> facility in South County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, only CURA currently provides a fully licensed and <br /> certified residential facility located in South County <br /> and a Board of Directors representative of South County, <br /> both required by the RFP; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CURA has received the unanimous endorsements from each <br /> of the Tri-City Councils for its proposal, as well as <br /> the endorsement of the San Leandro City Council and no <br /> competitor has received an endorsement from any city <br /> council or mayor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CURA's proposed program is on-line now and has been for <br /> 12 years with no interruption of treatment services and <br /> the current staff has collective experience totaling in <br /> excess of 60 years in drug treatment and administration; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton supports <br />County funding for The CURA Family. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 7, 1985 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> <br />
