CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ATAMFnA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. 86-560 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE FINAL P~ESULTS OF THE 1986 MUNICIPAL ELECTION jdHEREAS, the City Council has ordered consolidation of its municipal election with the statewide general election pursuant to Government Code Section 36503.5, and such election was held on November 4, 1986; and YdI'~REAS, the conduct of such a consolidated election is governed by Election Code Section 23300 et seq., and voting precincts were established for the consolidated election in accordance with the Election Code; and WHEREAS, on November 11, 1986, by Resolution No. 86-511, the Council conducted its preliminary canvass and installed the newly elected officials as required by law; and Wf~iEREAS, this Resolution presents the final corrected results and precinct by precinct results. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: The final official canvass has been duly made for the election of Mayor and City Councilmember and the results are as follows: a. Total ballots cast were approximately 15,052, equaling approxi- mately 61.67% of the eligible voters in the City of Pleasanton. b. Names and number of votes for persons running for the office of City Councilmernber: Frank C. Brandes, Jr. 5,240 Walter C. Wood 4,429 Ben C. Tarver 4,062 c. Names and number of votes for persons running for the office of Mayor: Kenneth R. Mercer 12,184 d. The number of votes given at each precinct to each person running for Mayor and City Councilmember is shown in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated by this reference.
