CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 86-557 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS <br />UNDER THE COMMUNITY PARKLANDS ACT OF 1986 FOR VETERAN'S <br />PLAZA AND PLEASANTON SPORTS RECREATION PARK PHASE V <br />WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the <br />Community Parklands Act of 1986, which provides funds to <br />the State of California and its political subdivisions <br />for acquiring and developing facilities for public <br />recreational and historical purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been <br />delegated the responsibility for the administration of <br />the program within the state, setting up necessary <br />procedures governing application by local agencies under <br />the program; and <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of <br />Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by <br />resolution the approval of applications before <br />submission of said applications to the state; and <br />WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant <br />must comply with; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement with <br />the State of California for acquisition, development, <br />rehabilitation or restoration of the projects; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: Approves the filing of an application for Community <br />Parklands Act of 1986 state grant assistance for the <br />following projects: <br />Veteran's Plaza - $50,000 FY 87/88; $50,000 FY 88/89 <br />Pleasanton Sports Recreation Park, <br />Phase V - $22,000 FY 87/88 <br />Section 2: Certifies that said agency understands the assurances <br />and certification in the application form. <br />Section 3: Certifies that said agency has or will have <br />sufficient funds to operate and maintain the projects. <br />Section 4: Certifies that said agency will complete the projects <br />within three years from date of approval by the state. <br />
