The City Council hereby establishes Friday, August 15, 2008 and Friday, August 22, 2008, respectfully, as the deadlines for submission of direct arguments and rebuttal arguments for the initiative measure. These arguments must be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on the respective deadline dates. Section 6. The City Clerk is directed to transmit the initiative measure to the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure by Friday, August 8, 2008. Section 7. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution, the election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections. Section 8. That notice of the time and place of holding the election is given and the City Clerk is authorized, instructed and directed to give further or additional notice of the election, in time, form and manner as required by law. Section 9. The City Council requests that the Alameda County Board of Supervisors order that this election be conducted by the Alameda County Registrar's Office on November 4, 2008, in conjunction with the statewide General Election on that date, with the actual costs for said election to be reimbursed by the City to the County. Section 10. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
