REPORT 4L / ~ / MOMORABLE CITY COUMCIL Pleasanton, California ' 'Approval of Improvement and Reimbursement Agreement for Storm Drainage' and Channel Construction - Civic Square Apartments~ Braddock and Logan Associates Members of the Council: Background On September 17, 1985, your City Council reviewed the proposed realignment of the drainage channels in conjunction with the senior housing site south of City Hall. The approved alternative provided [or the undergrounding of the channels from the proposed Bernal Extension to the existing channel on the south end of the City~s properties. The latter channel would also be fully improved to current flood control standards. Please note the attached sheet. As a part of their development, Braddock and Loga~ were required to construct a portion of the improvements. In order for this system to drain, the portion fronting the future senior housing site and the channel work must be improved. Braddock and Logan have proposed that they complete all of the improvements. They will do this only if the City will reimburse them for .that portion of the work that is the City's and Zone 7's responsibility. Agreement The agreement calls for Braddock and Logan to improve the downstream channel (Line B-2-3) and install the remaining portion of 72" storm pipe fronting the proposed senior housing site. All work shall be per plans approved by Zone 7 and the City's Director of Public Works. Work will commence approximately September 15, 1986 upon approval of the City and Zone 7. In addition, a construction license is required from the City and County of San Francisco for the channel work. Should CCSF not grant the license, the project may be delayed until spring, requiring Braddock and Logan to provide an alternate means to drain their development. SR86:380
