EXHIBIT "A"
M E M O R A N D U M
March 25, 1964
TO: PLANNING COMMISSION
FROM: CITY ENGINEER
SUBJECT: Report on Tentative Map for Tract 2573 (Mission Park - Unit 5), as
required by Section 2.03 of Ordinance No. 358
Reports from all City Departments and interested outside agencies have been
received and correlated. Comments from these reports, when applicable, have
been incorporated herein. It is recommended that the tentative map for Tract
2573 be approved as annotated (Exhibit "A ") and with the following conditions:
1. Specifications and Standard Details - In accordance with Section 8.01
of Ord. No. 358, it is requested that the City Engineer be authorized
to modify the City's existing Standard Specifications and Details in
applying them to this subdivision in order to allow for modern materials
and methods as may be required. Some specific recommendations for such
modifications are as follows:
a. Specifications for sewer and water pipe should be modified to allow
newer type joints.
b. Specifications for street name signs should be modified to require
white reflectorized letters and block numbers on green coated aluminum
sheeting as previously approved by the Planning Commission and City
Council.
c. Reference should be made to the 1960 Standard Specifications of the
State Division of Highways, rather than the 1954 edition, particularly
with reference to roadway materials.
2. Storm Drainage System is It is recommended that a wingwall transition of
sacked concrete or rip -rap be constructed at the entrance to the 42" storm
drain at the east edge of the tract. An easement from the adjacent
property owner would probably be required for this and the off -site
drainage diversion.
3. Electric Power Distribution. Street Lighting, and Telephone Service Systems -
In accordance with Article 8, Ordinance 358, the Planning Commission must
specify the method of installation of public utilities at the time of
approval of the tentative map. It is recommended that streamlined under-
ground systems be used in this development.
4. Easements - It is recommended that all in -tract easements be granted as
public service easements with no reference to specific use. An easement
shall be provided for storm drain line adjacent to Reserve for School Site.
5. Other Ordinances - Unless specifically modified by the Planning Commission
at the time of approval of this Tentative Map, the development shall conform
to all applicable ordinances and regulations of the City of Pleasanton and
all other agencies having jurisdiction.
