PLATNING CObITfISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTOTd
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. 1847
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COI4PdISSIOId, CITY OF PLEASANTOI7,
RECOMb7ENDING APPROVAL OF AN ENVIRONA'IENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR
JOHN AND JOAN CAROLIPIS FILED UNDER CASE PUD-80-1
WHEREAS, John and Joan Caroline have applied for development plan
approval for a business park to be located on a 69 acre
site on the south side of Valley Avenue and immediately
easterly of the residences along Kolln Street; and
WHEREAS, the property is zoned PUD-Industrial (Planned Unit Devel-
opment-Industrial) District; and
WHEREAS, an environmental impact report was completed in August,
1979, for this development plan; and
WFIEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the environmental impact
report which was prepared for this project at their meet-
ing of February 13, 1980, to determine if the project would
have any significant impacts in the environment, and if so,
whether mitigation measures or overriding considerations
may be present.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COPIIIISSION RESOLVES AS FOLLOV7S:
Section 1. The Planning Commission makes the following findings:
1. That the Environmental Impact Report for the planned
unit development has been completed in compliance
with CEQA and State Guidelines.
2. That the Planning Commission has reviewed and considered
the information contained in the Environmental Impact
Report prior to the approval of the project.
3. That the project would have significant adverse impacts
on the environment pertaining to traffic safety at the
Valley Avenue/"A" Drive intersection visual and accous-
tical screen of the uses on the site from surrounding
uses and water conservation, but that recommended con-
ditions of approval of case PUD-80-1 would reduce those
impacts to insignificant level.
4. That there are two significant adverse impacts of case
PUD-80-1 which are not mitigatable (traffic increase
on Valley Avenue and other access routes and impact
on Valley Avenue-Santa Rita Road intersection) but that
there are overriding social and economic considerations
(more local jobs) which make infeasible all mitigation
measures identified in the Environmental Impact Report.
