PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1721 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON APPROVING THE FILING OF A NEGATIVE <br />DECLARATION FOR PONDEROSA HOMES FILED UNDER GP-79-1. <br />WHEREAS, Ponderosa Homes has applied for a general plan amendment <br />to change the land use designation of a 9.8 acre site <br />located between Hansen Drive and Paseo Santa Cruz <br />immediately west of Valley Avenue from "High Density <br />Residential" to "Medium Density Residential." <br />WHEREAS, said proposal was based upon an Initial Study done pursuant <br />to the Environmental Impact Guidelines and Procedures <br />adopted by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br />by Resolution No. 77-66' and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its meeting of March 14, 1979, <br />received the Initial Study and proposed Negative Declaration <br />in a report from the Director of Planning and Community <br />Development dated March.l4, 1979, regarding the afore- <br />mentioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission was advised of its responsibilities <br />in reviewing the proposed Negative Declaration and the <br />determinations required by Section 5.4 (e) of Resolution <br />No. 77-66; and <br />WHEREAS, each member of the Planning Commission had before him/her <br />copies of Resolution No. 77-66 at the time of considering <br />the proposed environmental assessment, which was previously <br />published in "The Times," at the time of the public hearing <br />on the aforementioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, upon receipt of the staff report and public input, the <br />Planning Commission reviewed the provisions of the City's <br />Guidelines and Processing Procedures for the evaluation <br />of the projects and the preparation of Environmental Impact <br />Reports as they pertain to requirements for Negative <br />Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports in order <br />to determine if a Negative Declaration is appropriate for <br />the project and what mitigation measures, if any, must be <br />undertaken to ensure that the project will not have a <br />significant impact upon the environment. <br />
