PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1638 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR <br />VAN BOKKELEN-COLE COMPANY. <br />WHEREAS, Van Bokkelen-Cole Company has applied £or a rezoning of <br />approximately 3.8 acres of land located on the east side <br />of Santa Rita Road immediately north of the Arroyo Mocho <br />from the RM-2500 (Multiple Family Residential) District to <br />the C-N (Commercial Neighborhood) District; and <br />WHEREAS, said proposal was based upon an Initial Study done pursuant <br />to the Environmental Impact Guidelines and Procedures adopted <br />by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton by Resolution <br />No. 77-66; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at its meeting of May 10, 1978, <br />received the Initial Study and proposed Negative Declaration <br />in a report from the Director. of Community Development dated <br />February 28, 1978, regarding the aforementioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission was advised by the City Attorney of <br />its responsibilities in reviewing the proposed Negative <br />Declaration and the determinations required by Section 5.4(e) <br />of Resolution No. 77-66; and <br />WHEREAS, each member of the Planning Commission had before him/her <br />copies of Resolution No. 77-66 at the time of considering the <br />proposed environmental assessment, which has previously been <br />published in the Pleasanton Times, at the time of the public <br />hearing on the aforementioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, upon receipt of the staff report and public input, the Planning <br />Commission reviewed the provisions of the City's Guidelines <br />and Processing Procedures for the evaluation of projects and <br />the preparation of Environmental Impact Reports as they pertain <br />to requirements for Negative Declarations and Environmental <br />Impact Reports in order to determine if a Negative Declaration <br />is appropriate for the project and what mitigation measures, <br />if any, must be undertaken to ensure that the project will <br />not have a significant impact upon the environment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission reviewed the contents of Resolution <br />No. 77-66 (Environmental Impact Guidelines and Procedures) <br />as they pertain to the requirements for Negative Declarations <br />and Environmental Impact Reoorts and determines that the <br />project requested in RZ-78-3, would not have any significant <br />effects on the environment to require the preparation of <br />an Environmental Impact Report. <br />
