PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1651 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON ACCEPTING AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT <br />PREPARED FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES APPLI- <br />CATION FILED UNDER UP-77-14. <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the State Architect submitted drawings for <br />construction of an office to serve as a site for the <br />Department of Motor Vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with this project, the Department of General <br />Services prepared an environmental impact report; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing to review this report was held by the <br />Planning Commission on July 12, 1978, when all pertinent <br />information was considered; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission makes a finding of significant <br />impact which can be mitigated by implementing the <br />following conditions: <br />1. Proper placement of all driveways or median left-turn <br />pockets at the project site in order to obtain adequate <br />site distance for all drivers, to allow drivers adequate <br />weaving distance to get into proper lanes on West Las <br />Positas Boulevard, and to eliminate hazardous traffic <br />movements such as U-turns on West Las Positas Boulevard. <br />2. Conduct driver tests on,HOpyard Road only during periods <br />of low traffic volumes. <br />3. Construct the office building to resist earthquake motion, <br />liquefaction (if any), differential settlement and <br />damage from expansive soils. <br />Section 2. The Planning Commission accepts the environmental impact <br />report prepared for this project subject to the mitigation <br />measures noted in Section 1. above. <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />
