4 <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICT MEETING <br />May 20, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Hosterman called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Boardmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Chair Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />Public Comments: None <br />1. Adopt a resolution approving the Engineer's Reports for the subject GHADs and approving <br />and declaring the Board's intentions to assess the properties within the GHADs for the costs <br />to maintain and operate the GHADs and set June 17, 2008, as the date of the public <br />hearings to hear protests concerning the proposed assessments <br />Director of Public Works Wilson said the purpose of the Geologic Hazard Abatement District is to <br />pay for landslide repairs and related geologic and storm drain monitoring. He discussed work to <br />date, said the Board is being asked to approve the Engineer's Report of Assessments, which are <br />not increasing, and to set the public hearing for June 17, 2008 when the Board will be requested <br />to levy the assessments for that year after holding the public hearing. <br />Chair Hosterman opened the item for public comment. There being no one wishing to speak <br />public comment was closed. <br />Motion: It was m/s by McGovern/Cook-Kallio to adopt a resolution approving the Engineer's <br />Reports for the subject GHADs and approving and declaring the Board's intentions to assess <br />the properties within the GHADs for the costs to maintain and operate the GHADs and set June <br />17, 2008, as the date of the public hearings to hear protests concerning the proposed <br />assessments. <br />Ayes: Members Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Chair Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />Adjournment: The Geologic Hazard Abatement District Board adjourned at 6:59 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Karen Diaz <br />City Clerk <br />
