PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1500 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE ADOPTION <br />OF A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AS FILED UNDER GP-77-1. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied for an amendment to <br />the General Plan which would change the land use desig- <br />nation of an approximately 51-acre area located imme- <br />diately south of the Arroyo Mocho and east of Martin <br />Avenue (if extended northward to the Arroyo Mocho) <br />from "Sand and Gravel Harvesting" to "Medium Density <br />Residential" use; and <br />REAS, this property has been determined to be poor sand and <br />gravel harvesting land because the overburden in the <br />area is too deep in relation to the sand and gravel <br />deposits; and <br />REAS, the property is not planned to be utilized as sand and <br />gravel deposits; and <br />the property is not planned to be utilized as sand and <br />gravel lands at least during the 20-year life of the <br />plan, consequently, it was excluded from the prezoning <br />to the Q (Rock, Sand and Gravel Extraction) District <br />when all of the sand and gravel harvesting lands in the <br />Pleasanton planning area were so prezoned by the City <br />in 1974; and <br />since the staff is now preparing the final General Plan <br />map for publication, it is critical that the amendment <br />be made; and <br />REAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearig on March <br />9, 1977, at which time all documents, maps and reports <br />were reviewed. <br />THEREFORE, the Planning Commission resolves as follows: <br />1. The Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br />recommends to the City Council an amendment to the <br />General Plan as filed under Application GP-77-1, to <br />change the land use designation of approximately 51 <br />acres of land located immediately south of the Arroyo <br />Mocho and east of the northerly extension of Martin <br />Avenue from "Sand and Gravel Harvesting" to "Medium <br />Density Residential." <br />
