PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 1501
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL
THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT FOR PERMITTED
AND CONDITIONALLY PERMITTED USES IN THE INDUSTRIAL
DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council, on January 24, 1977, initiated an
amendment to the Zoning Code to revise the permitted
and conditionally permitted uses in industrial
districts; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to Sections 2-7.20 and 2-7.21 of Article
9, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the
City of Pleasanton, which would revise the permitted
and conditionally permitted uses in industrial districts
and was submitted to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the draft ordinance
on March 9, 1977 and held a public hearing on the
proposed amendment at that time; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that while they concurred
with the amendments as proposed by the City Council,
they did not wish to totally exclude specific processes
or uses, even if deemed hazardous, if they could be
properly regulated as conditionally allowed uses in
the I-G (General Industrial) District.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council
the adoption of an ordinance amendment for permitted
and conditionally permitted uses in the industrial
districts, per the draft ordinance attached hereto
and made part of this resolution by reference with the
exception that the following be added as a conditionally
allowed use in the i-G District: "manufacturing,
assembling, compounding, packaging and processing of
articles, or merchandise containing asbestos."
