CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 86-293 RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT APPROVE A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OUTBOARD MOTOR ASSOCIATION FOR ONE WEEKEND IN OCTOBER 1986 WHEREAS, the East Bay Regional Park District has permitted outboard motor races to be held at Shadow Cliff Regional Park one weekend per year for the past five years; and WHEREAS, when the California Outboard Motor Association applied for a permit to hold their annual boat races in Shadow Cliffs for May 3rd and 4th, 1986, the East Bay Regional Park District contacted City staff for their input; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 17, 1986, the Council reviewed the report (SR 86:255) from the director of Parks and Community Services regarding the impact of the annual boat race and recommendations from the Park and Recreation Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council recommends that the East Bay Regional Park District approve a special use permit for the Northern California Outboard Motor Association for one weekend in October, 1986, subject to the-following conditions: a. That motorboat use be restricted to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and b. That East Bay Regional Park District not accept or consider any additional applications for use of Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area for power boat activities or events until the Resource Analysis and the Master Plan for the park is completed; and c. That any consideration for permitting power boat use of Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area be limited to one weekend per year and to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
