PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 1516 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 2-7.17(i) AND 2-7.20(1)(a) OF THE ZONING CODE RELATING TO OFFICE USES IN INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS. WHEREAS, a request was received from the master lessee of the former Volkswagen distribution center on Johnson Industrial Drive to allow the leasing of office space within the administrative office building to people requiring space from 150 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft.; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the request on April 13, 1977 at which time they requested a survey and inventory of available office space in the City; and WHEREAS, the Planning staff prepared a survey of office space and submitted a report on that survey to the Planning Commission on May 3, 1977 at a special meeting held to consider the request of the master lessee; and WHEREAS, the staff's study reported that permitting office space to be leased in small units in Industrial Districts would negatively impact other office areas in the City; and WHEREAS, the staff recommended, as a compromise, the modifica- tion of Section 2-7.20(1)(a), Article 9, (I District), Chapter II (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development) which limits offices in I Districts from "Regional Administrative Offices" in excess of 5,000 sq. ft. to "General Offices" in excess of 2,000 sq. ft.; and WHEREAS, the Commission held a public hearing on the proposed change and considered the staff report and testimony from the master lessee and members of the public. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council appove an ordinance code amendment as follows: a) That subsection (i) of Section 2-7.17 (Purposes), _ Article 9 (I-Industrial Districts), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development) be deleted. -1-
